“Not everything can be explained. Some things must simply be felt, followed, or trusted.”
There are moments in the quiet hours—before the humans rise, before the sun lifts itself over the window ledge—when I sense things I cannot see. A shift in the wind. A creak in the floorboards. The quiet presence of something just outside my understanding.
I do not run from it. I do not try to explain it away. I sit with it.
Much of life, I’ve come to learn, is unseen. We feel the seasons changing before we notice the leaves fall. We know someone is kind before they speak. We find ourselves drawn down a hallway not because we know where it leads—but because something deep within says, this way.
Cats understand this better than most. We follow instincts, hunches, quiet signals that others miss. We know that not all paths are marked, and not all truths are visible.
The Hidden Rhythms of Life
The world works in patterns we may never fully understand. The moon returns to the same spot in the sky, the sun warms the same corner of the floor. Food appears in the bowl, not because we demand it, but because we trust it will come.
I’ve learned to trust the rhythm of things—of the day, of the home, of those I share it with. I do not need to know how the kettle works to enjoy the warmth it brings. I do not need to see the breeze to feel it move through my fur.
How I Practice Trust in the Unseen:
- I nap without fear. I trust the house will hold me, the light will return.
- I listen without needing to respond. I let the quiet speak its own truths.
- I follow my feet. Not every path is planned, and that’s perfectly fine.
Letting Go of the Need to Know
The human world is full of questions—what next, how long, why me? But I’ve found that not all questions need answers. Some things are not meant to be solved, only lived through.
We do not always know where a step will lead. But we take it anyway. Not because we are certain—but because we are curious, hopeful, open.
The unseen is not a threat. It is a mystery, and often, a gift.
Final Thoughts: Walking With Wonder
Not everything in life will be clear, neat, or proven. But that doesn’t make it unworthy of trust.
So today, I ask you:
Where can you loosen your grip and walk forward—not in fear, but in quiet wonder?
~ Oscar Underpaw
There will always be things we cannot predict, explain, or control. But that doesn’t mean we must fear them. Trust in your instincts. Trust in the kindness that arrives without warning, the timing that seems just right, and the paths that call to you without reason.
What part of your life are you being called to trust—even if you can’t yet see where it leads? 🐾

Somehow, I am not getting access to all of your posts in Reader. I did a little dive in today and found this little gem about Trust- an issue I fight valiantly with- and as a result, I want to kidnap a line from here and use it in a Sen-Hai poem I am writing. The line is, ‘not all paths are marked’ please lmk if I can use it as I want to link to you and this post- thanking you for the inspirational part it played my little poem.
Of course you’re welcome to use it. It means a lot that you found inspiration in that line, and I’d love to read your poem when it’s ready.
It will post Monday afternoon as a part of my response to the SenHai Saturday prompt. Thank you so much!
You’re quite welcome. Looking forward to it.
